I used to be consumed by my healthcare and worried sick about it.  I'd lie awake at night trying to figure out how I was going to fix my health and pay for my medical care.  I didn't know how to find the right Doctors or locate the best treatment facilities.  I didn't understand the details of my health insurance or know exactly what it would cover, or not cover.  I didn't know the difference between my co-pays, deductibles, or out-of-pocket costs.  And I certainly didn't know how to check my medical bills for billing errors or how to lower my prescription drug costs.  More often than not, my healthcare ran on auto pilot and I was just an innocent bystander.  I let others lead the way and make important decisions on my behalf.  Consequently, that left me feeling as if I was a nameless, faceless number and was constantly getting "run over" by the healthcare system. I felt powerless to do anything about it.That is, until I had my first knee surgery and woke up to hear the words, “I’m sorry, but you’re NOT okay!”  My life immediately began to spin out of control and it eventually took me down a long, dark, and twisted path that taught me that I HAD to be the one to take control and I had to be the one to be in charge.  I've now had 11 major operations in under 11 years ... costing me well over $300,000 and I've learned a LOT about how to protect myself. I also learned more about what NOT to do when it comes to healthcare navigation, than what I OUGHT to do in order to advocate for myself.

Through trial and error, I finally figured out how to do Self-Advocacy™.  Now, I feel like I can handle ANY medical dilemma that comes my way and that I can get to a proper diagnosis and successful outcome more quickly and easily than I ever thought possible.  I can confidently maneuver through the medical maze, have meaningful conversations with my Doctors, participate in my own treatment plans, and know exactly how much I'll need pay for my prescription medications and ongoing medical care. Most importantly, I now know how to keep my medical expenses to a minimum & how to significantly reduce my overall medication costs. 

Through this experience (and others) I've learned how to become a better patient in the healthcare system, and how to successfully maneuver my way through the medical maze.  Through trial and error, and a desperation to fix my own health, I created a powerful and effective Self-Advocacy System™  that enabled me to save valuable time, money, and energy.  This system was so effective that I began sharing it with others and eventually used it as the cornerstone for becoming a professional Medical Advocate. Over the past 15 years, I have been able to use this Self-Advocacy System  to help countless others (all over the world) succeed, take control over their health, turn their lives around, and begin living the life of their dreams.

Without even realizing that I was doing it, I had taken my life’s lessons and used them to help others who were also experiencing the same devastating effects that I had once experienced and that come when you’re not fully prepared for life’s medical emergencies.  I used my hard earned lessons and first-hand experience to help others avoid the pitfalls & frustrations that come when navigating through healthcare system and taught them the strategies and tactics that were vital to help them succeed.
