“In 2005, I went on holiday to Kenya and was awestruck by the artistry and craftsmanship I discovered. Delicate, hand-beaded sandals. Intricately adorned belts, beautiful, bright jewellery. The local people were crafting works of art that needed to be shared with the world.

So, in 2006 I established Aspiga, setting out to help stimulate the economies of these talented artisans whilst providing beautiful, quality, handmade goods to boutiques and department stores.

I spent two years developing the Aspiga sandal collection, whilst working for The Prince Charles’ charity, Business in the Community (where I worked for 15 years), and launched the collection in 2006 at the wholesale trade show, Top Drawer in London. The sandals were snapped up by 40 stockists including Fenwick of Bond Street. I was absolutely thrilled by the response and made the hard decision to leave the charity and focus on growing Aspiga.

In 2011 we launched our online business. We have stayed committed to our sustainable and ethical fashion practices and always choose carefully when deciding on our production process, the materials we use, our packaging, and printed media. Our long-term mission is to reduce and offset all our carbon footprint.

We have now expanded our collection, and design and create contemporary, stylish, and timeless clothing for women and men using natural and organic materials which we now sell internationally.

In 2019, we opened our first Aspiga pop-up on the King’s Road, London which was a huge success and enabled us to realise the potential of Aspiga Shops.
