Shoes For Crews was founded in 1984 by Stanley Smith, who together with Matt Smith were producing a small collection of footwear for nurses out of their family apartment. One of their contacts mentioned a need for shoes to "grip" the slippery floors of a restaurant. The Smith family took this idea and ran with it by partnering with a professor of rubber technology to create the first line of slip-resistant footwear.

Since 1984, Shoes For Crews has had one of the very best slip-resistant outsoles in the business. We’ve spent more than 30 years studying the science of safety, and the past two years innovating our entire product collection to bring you upgraded slip resistance, comfort, technology and design to ensure you stay safe.

One thing hasn’t changed though, is our superior slip-resistant outsoles. We take safety and slip-resistance so seriously, that we own our own outsole factory. So we are in charge of every single ingredient that goes into each outsole and every step in the production process.

Now our legacy of safety has been revamped to be more slip-resistant, comfortable and of a higher quality than ever, keeping you safe and on your feet. You can go into work each day knowing your shoes are built to withstand the most demanding conditions.

 
SHOES FOR CREWS EUROPE
Shoes For Crews Europe was established in Shannon, Ireland in 2001, where it entered the European market selling a selection of slip-resistant footwear. The operation grew throughout the decade and in 2009 Shoes For Crews Europe established sales teams in both Germany and the UK, and the following year 2010 in France. In 2011, to accommodate the expansion of the Shannon based team, the company moved into a larger office space. During this time the company also moved and expanded its European distribution centre in Shannon.

Since 2010 Shoes For Crews Europe has produced its shoe catalogue in 3 different languages (English, German and French), and maintained a customer service team in Shannon to meet the needs of those countries servicing them with multi lingual teams. In 2013 Shoes For Crews Europe moved its Distribution Centre to Venlo in Holland to meet the needs of its ever expanding European business. In 2017 Shoes For Crews established a sales team in the Netherlands, began to produce a Dutch version of the sales catalogue and expanded its customer service team to cover the Dutch market.

Today Shoes For Crews Europe continues to grow and we currently have over 110+ slip-resistant shoe styles in our portfolio with more to be added throughout 2018.
